CKI Ambassador

Jill Davidson, STUFH-CKI Ambassador for 2017-18

Hey everyone! My name is Jill Davidson and I am a senior at the University of Michigan majoring in Psychology and minoring in Judaic Studies and Science, Technology, & Society. I am super excited to be serving as your STUFH ambassador for the 2017-2018 year! I am also serving as the Club President of Circle K at the University of Michigan this year.

Many of my favorite service projects have been related to hunger. My sophomore year, I had the chance to lead an Alternative Spring Break trip of fellow Circle K members to South Bend, Indiana to work with an organization called Unity Gardens, which aims to provide food for the community through their sustainable garden system and education about how to grow your own food. That week, we were immersed in issues related to hunger, such as by visiting local soup kitchens and homeless shelters, and helped the organization prepare for the spring by working in one of their main gardens. It really opened my eyes to all of the food injustice and hunger issues in the world and how much of an impact we can make on our communities by volunteering. In addition to that, I’ve done many other hunger projects, including volunteering regularly the past two summers at a wonderful organization in Ann Arbor called Back Door Food Pantry.

This year, I hope to strengthen CKI’s involvement with STUFH through events such as STUFH the Bus and food drives at the end of the semester. I also want to promote all of the different ways that CKI members can get involved with fighting hunger, such as volunteering at their local food banks or gardens.
