The time of year that food banks most need donations coincides with the time of year that we typically get the fewest. At the same time that college students leave at the end of the semester, young children leave school to face a hungry summer without school lunch programs to sustain them. These children rely on food banks who struggle to capture food during the slow summer months. The end of the year food drive allows college students to help feed our future college students.
